Photo Phun…

As I was waiting for the traffic light to change, I looked out the window and had to take this picture. I wasn’t driving, so it wasn’t a big deal when I took out my camera and snapped a few pictures. I like taking pictures of reflections. Reflections from glasses, windows, water, plastic. It doesn’t matter to me what the object is made of which captures the reflection: mirrors, glasses, ponds, windows, book covers, computer monitors, television screens. You name it and if I am able to capture a clear reflection, I will snap a picture or two or three. It’s as if a force of nature taunts me until I give in to my impulse, push down on the button, and hear the shutter of the camera make its mechanical noise, signalling the image being captured for future use. You could say I am an addict of sorts. I love my camera. It’s as part of me as breathing. Even though my cell phone has a camera, there is nothing comparable to that of my camera.

When I arrived home, I uploaded the picture and started to edit it. I cropped it first. I didn’t want the building of McDonald’s to be in the photo. Nor did I want the other cars beside me in it. I then beveled the lens edges and cartooned it. Once I clicked the “cartoon” button, the photo changed. There are no longer any hard lines and more details seemed to pop out. This is perhaps one of my favorites.

  1. Hi There…I am SO with you on this one.
I have literally hundreds of photos of the mountains reflected in the wet sand.
    I love your pic.
Thank you for the birthday wishes.

    • Thanks, Granny! 🙂
Ah yes, yet regardless of how many times you have taken a pic of the same thing in the same place, each photo is different.
